is an award winning writer/filmmaker and Pennsylvania State University alumnus.  

 

Mr. Szmerekovsky grew up in a military family and spent the majority of his upbringing in Colorado Springs, CO. His passion for the arts started with creating short comedy sketches, stories, and stage plays with friends/artists while living in Colorado. This passion continued when he later moved to the Northern Virginia area.

 

 In 2017 he began making short films during his undergraduate studies while attending Penn State and in 2019 created

Of The Spruce Productions as a way to showcase his work.

From 2020-2022 Mr. Szmerekovsky freelanced in the Washington DC area providing video production support for podcasts, documentaries, and live broadcast events. His roles ranged from Production Assistant, Grip, and Camera Assistant.

Mr. Szmerekovsky then transitioned to a full-time career in corporate video production and photography working for Samson Properties, the largest real estate brokerage in Northern Virginia. At Samson Properties, he helped manage their in-house studio and produced educational videos, promotional videos, live-streams, and business conferences. (2022-2025)

 

Currently, Mr. Szmerekovsky works as a Producer/Editor for EWTN in Irondale, AL.
